Can having an appendectomy cause a lot of problems with my crohn’s?

I went to the ER on October 10th with a very bad flare up. (all on the left side and middle) After having cat scan the ER doctor said my appendix needed to be removed. Since the surgery, I have never felt worse. Between not having control of my bowels at times to bad flare ups its been a rough time. I’ve missed a lot of work and am not happy. Then to top it off, my GI doctor says afterwards that he feels that the appendix didn’t need to come out. Any suggestions???
