Strange 'pumped muscles' sensations?

Hi all, hope you're all doing well! Ever since being diagnosed with crohn's I've had a peculiar thing where when I do something repetitive with my body, the muscles I'm using seem to get pumped up and full of blood extremely quickly, which then makes it hard to move that muscle. For example, today I used a bicycle pump (the kind you stand on and pump downward) and after around 10 pumps my triceps well got really pumped up and I found it hard to straighten or bend my arms because of it. As if I had been lifting heavy weights at the gym. This seems to happen to every other muscle when used repetitively I the same way as well. I'm just wondering does anybody else get similar issues? I haven't read anything about it anywhere so I feel like maybe it isn't crohns related? Thank you in advance!

  1. I have never experienced this before. But maybe it could be the inflammation in our body reacting? It's like a lot of force in one area and so it gets inflamed? Just thinking out loud. I wish I had more answers for you. -Elizabeth (team member)

    1. That's exactly what I've put it down to, I just thought I would ask because I've never seen it mentioned in the past. Thank you for your reply 😁

    2. Chrons disease affects every part of your body from your head to your feet, it probably is chrons related with immunocompromised people your body plays tricks on you and they are usually chrons related. I lost my hair I've had all my teeth out got upper body muscle wastage, this disease is very very complex and everybody is different.if your body is telling you something listen to it and cut back on how often you use your weights don't give up just adjust how many reps , your body is trying to tell you steady on, or be careful especially if you are driving home. Stay safe and well

      1. absolutely, crohn's is a crazy, scary thing huh?! Thank you very much for your reply. I'm a bricklayer so my job is very physical throughout the day so I can't really avoid that aspect. I have however learned to relax and look after myself more now inbetween work though. Thank you for the supportive message, I hope you're well!
